Der Runddocht ist eine geflochtene Baumwollschnur. Durch das geflochtene Muster der Baumwollschnur entsteht eine Kapillarwirkung und dadurch wird das Wachs angesaugt. Der Runddocht ist speziell für Bienenwachskerzen und reine Stearinkerzen. Wichtig: Die Laufrichtung des Flechtmusters ist beim Runddocht zu beachten (die Spitzen des Musters müssen nach unten zeigen). Die Größe des Dochtes ist abhängig von der Kerzendicke. Wenn ein zu dünner Docht gewählt wird ist die Flamme klein und brennt schlecht, ist der Docht jedoch zu dick, rußt die Kerze.
